Living (24): Costume

harkaway:

Muse: Halloo, halloo, how about a little evening creative w- Holy Mother of Spielberg!
Me: I’m going to a party.
Muse: Like that?
Me: It’s a costume party.
Muse: And you’re going like that?
Me: This is my costume.
Muse: What will you do after all the other guests leave?
Me: You don’t like it.
Muse: I find it alarming, certainly.
Me: I think it kinda rocks. It’s unexpected and just a little bit weirdly sexy.
Muse: Never say that word again while you are dressed as… what are you dressed as?
Me: I am the MIGHTY WOTAN.
Muse: Uh huh.
Me: And this is my raven, Munin.
Muse: Right. And…
Me: Eyepatch, check.
Muse: Yes, clearly.
Me: Leathern tunic and trews, check.
Muse: Oh, yes. Those.
Me: And a warrior’s enormous beard!
Muse: About that…
Me: I had to repurpose part of my Santa outfit.
Muse: You look like Bondage George R R Martin.

DYING.

Join us at Housing Works Bookstore Cafe for free drinks, fun swag, mixing, mingling, and readings by Edan Lepucki, Alexander Chee, and Baratunde Thurston.

If you do anything the first week of June, it should be this. (And the Bookrageous party, of course.)
